At MOXON not only do we have this wonderful online site, full of our favourite products from around the world, but we also sell our products to amazing stores around the world, meaning you can shop MOXON products in a store near you.
Through this series we hope to introduce you to some of the fantastic business owners that we work with and give you an insight into their story and store, with that being said... let us introduce Pencil Me In!
Describe your shop in 3 words, what can people find when they visit you?We are in Elgin North East Scotland, 27 Batchen Street. We are open Monday to Saturday 9.30 - 4.30 (& Sundays in December).
What is the best thing about being a store owner / buyer?
The relationships I have with my customers, suppliers, my team & other small businesses. I love chatting with our customers, introducing them to new products, encouraging them to try the newest pen or pencil we have in or helping them put together a gift. I really love trade shows and industry events & chatting all things shop with industry friends.
The biggest challenge?
Magically increasing turnover & margins to match increasing overheads.
What inspires you?
I love shopping, I go out of my way to visit new & lovely looking shops, make time to experience different shopping environments to inspire me on how we move forward, keeps things fresh and relevant at Pencil Me In.
What is your Best-selling product? And personal favourite? Are they the same thing?
Best selling is our own pencil range, we can print anything you want on a pencil and this is super popular with our local & online customers. My personal favourite is the And Hand Method Black pen, it is so beautiful to use and although a little pricier than a BIC we sold our first collection fast which proves to me they are really good quality.
When thinking about the year ahead, what are you most excited for?
I love Christmas time at the shop, and the thought of 100's of people opening their presents on Christmas Day and them being beautiful stationery from our shop. But by mid December I am already in planning for the spring seasons and what we'll be looking for at the January trade shows.
If you're in the Elgin area, you'll definitely want to swing by and check out Pencil Me In!
